This week I made a small donation to Hulphond Nederland — an organization that trains and places assistance dogs for people with visual impairments and other disabilities here in the Netherlands.
It’s not a grand gesture. €15 won’t change the world. But these dogs quite literally change someone’s world — giving independence back to people who would otherwise rely entirely on others to navigate daily life.
I’ve been living and working in Limburg for a while now, and the more embedded I become in this country, the more I want to give something back — even in small ways.
If you work in tech like I do, it’s easy to spend all your energy on systems, products, and pipelines. Occasionally it’s good to zoom out and remember what technology — and people — are actually for.
If you’d like to support Hulphond Nederland too, you can do so at hulphond.nl.
